Ruby joined our team spring of 2023. She is very level headed and doesn’t easily spook about scary objects. It is hard to get her upset, but she does like her personal space. She does not like it when people get up in her face and don’t give her some room to move around. We do allow people to pet her, but on the neck, not the face. She’s not like Blaze who likes people all over his face. She is still really sweet. Just needs a normal amount of space and respect that any horse should be offered 😉
Ruby loves to be around people even if she doesn’t want want her face touched, she does want to be there to hang out with you. When we are doing chores, this can be a problem because she follows so close that sometimes we back up and trip over her because she’s always RIGHT THERE! She really wants to be sure that she’s not missing out on anything.
Ruby is also quite spunky and will tell the other horses exactly what she thinks. Prince (who is smaller AND younger than she is) will try to act all special and bossy. Ruby does not put up with that! It is quite funny to watch her give Prince a piece of her mind when he starts getting too full of himself.
Ruby would love to come visit you for photos or pony rides. She is big enough to carry up to 200lbs, but gentle enough to carry the smallest children. She is a great choice for events with mixed ages.
